Economy

I would like to discuss economy. I have to face challenges everyday with my son, I am not doing good myself but my son is doing worse than me. In the last 6 months he lost his job and he lost his family. We all know when you don,t have a job it can cause family issue that's what happen to him. He call me everyday and we pray everyday, because we all know we are not the only ones. Our economy is going down the tubes, we all know when you are looking for a job like my son it take money and when you don't have a job it is hard to get money. When you do not have a job it affect the way you are living. We all know the economy is depressing, my son have been in and out the hospital for his heart and blood pressure from worrying. However, you can not worry when you do not have a job, I tell my son God will not put nothing on us that we cannot handle. We can tell other people not to worry, but when it come to yourself you do the same things you tell other people. I wont to ask you a question, how do you feel about the economy. I will go first I think the economy is bad for everyone in (America), I keep telling my son everything is going to get better just keep having faith. I know when the economy began declining (2004) my job laid me off then after that everything started going down. The economy can not get that much worse - so the only place to go is up - we hope. They say the job market is getting a lot better but I cannot tell because my son been looking for a job for 6 month. He has been applying everywhere, no one has called him yet. I told my son to hang in there do not give up someone will call you.

About myself challenge I faces is going back to school

The tough thing about going back to school was fear . I Viola Gillis am honored to be enrolled at Kaplan University. I am from Daytona, Florida. I have four children. I had my children when I was young in age. They are all grown now. I never had the chance to finish my goals, because of helping my children complete their goals. All of my children completed high school and two to complete college. I also went back to college, but I never got the chance to complete my goals. I waited for a long time in my life to go back and complete my goal. My goal is going back to get what’s missing in my life, which is a college degree. I’ve always wanted to take up classes in the medical field, but never got the chance to follow through. So I’m tired of thinking about it, and have decided to tackle the challenge head on. I know I will be good at the medical classes, because I will be working at home undisturbed. I’ve always wanted to work at home. I’m very nervous about going back to school, because I haven’t been to school since 1987. I know since I’ve been to school everything is very different now. But I’m willing to learn and will be good at it. Like I told my children, anything you put your mind to do you can do it. My hobby is cooking. I love to cook, especially when I am stressed. I am not working now. I have not worked since 2004. When I did work, I work to a place called Corporate Express. I worked in shipping and receiving. Now you know all about some parts of my life, let me tell you about other people in my life. When I first told my husband, children, and grandchildren, they were so proud of me. I thought I was too old, but they said mom people older than you are going back to school. I also told my mother about going back to school. She was pleased also. I have two sisters and two brothers and I have one deceased sister. My mother will be 80 years old in November. We are having an 80 year old birthday ball for her in Florida. We are so proud to have our mother still with us, and I’m so proud to have something to share with her and be proud of to share with her. One of my sisters, Joanne has her LPN, and another sister Robin has her phlebotomy licenses. One of my brothers, Dwain, he also has a license in HVAC. My other brother is in the Navy. He will come out of the Navy next year after 20 years. I have eight grand children and two great-grand children. Four of my grand children completed high school and three in high school and one is a toddler. The grand children in high school are discussing college. I have two daughter-in-laws. One is acquiring a Master’s. She is a probation officer. My other daughter-in-law is a manager in Publix’s deli. I have a daughter is a teacher; she has her degree in Elementary education. She teaches 2nd grade. She has been teaching for nine years. I have a son he also completed college, his major was Business Administration, he is a manager at KFC. He is also a Minister. I have another son which is the youngest; he’s also thinking about returning to school to drive transfer trucks. I know that this will be a rewarding experience for me at this point in my life. Thank you for accepting me in your program. I look forward to being the best student you have ever seen.
